Johnston road sweeping equipment can and will in many
cases out last the useable life of the chassis it is mounted on. After
complete refurbishment this equipment can be remounted on a NEW chassis
and used for many more years. Parts that are no longer serviceable will
be replaced with new Johnston parts.
THE PROCEDURE
All sweeping equipment is completely stripped apart, shot blasted, repaired
or renewed where necessary and painted prior to re-assembly onto a NEW
chassis of your choice.
BODY, COWL & REAR DOOR
The body, cowl and rear door often require much more work than a lot
of the other equipment but this does not mean that they are not re-usable.
All bodies, cowls and rear doors are completely stripped, shot blasted
and repaired accordingly using the original grade steel.
This can vary anywhere between minor panel repairs for slightly dented
cowl’s etc. to complete rebuilding of the whole body and cowl.
For the body this will in most cases mean complete side and roof renewal
along with internal vacuum tunnel rebuilding and suction and exhaust
tunnelling replacement for the cowl. Rear discharge doors can also be
completely rebuilt.
Once the body, cowl and rear door refurbishment is complete, they will
be painted in your livery, in a low bake oven by a local company that
specialises in commercial vehicle paintwork.
AUXILIARY ENGINE & TRANSMISSION
In most instances the auxiliary engine will be replaced with a NEW Perkins
unit carrying a full Perkins warranty. Alternatively auxiliary engines
can be fully reconditioned by a registered Perkins agent and also carry
their 1 year warranty. New starter motor, Alternator & radiator
along with top & bottom hoses & water & oil switches will
be fitted
The fluid coupling and z-drive gear box will be fully reconditioned
but can be replaced with new if required.
ELECTRICAL EQUIPMENT
Control boxes are mounted on a vertically mounted pod in the cab with
the PTO and ‘Ergo’ switch incorporated alongside. The Camera
monitor will be mounted on top of the control box. This means all sweeping
operations are operated from one local area therefore vehicle dash boards
do not have to be modified or removed to accept additional sweeping
equipment switching.
In view of safety, reverse camera systems and audible reverse buzzers
are fitted to all machines.
The engine loom will be replaced with a fusible link engine loom. Also
resistors & relays are replaced.
Voltage upgrades are also carried out on 12 volt systems to 24 volt,
to include starter motor, alternator, relays, bulbs and all solenoids.
The systems locker will be completely stripped of all contents, shot
blasted, painted and re-fitted with all components, new where necessary.
HYDRAULIC SYSTEMS
All hydraulics are checked, cleaned and items replaced where necessary
including internal valve bank seals. All hydraulic hoses are replaced
with new, to include suction hoses, return hoses as well as pressure
hoses. The hydraulic return filter is also replaced.
WATER SYSTEMS
All water hoses are replaced to include suction, return and pressure
hoses. The water pump will be checked and repaired where necessary and
all water jets renewed to give optimum water pressure and efficiency.
New Supa wash is fitted to incorporate front spray bar, nozzle box spray
bar/s, also a hose reel & lance with twin jets.
SWEEPING EQUIPMENT
All sweeping equipment will be completely refurbished to incorporate
NEW pins, bushes, motors & any other items necessary.
The WSB will be replaced with the low-pro system if not already fitted.
RUBBERS & WARE PARTS
All rubbers are replaced with NEW to include all curtains, nozzle box
rubbers, nozzle trunking, top boom hose and gaiter, rear door seal,
body and cowl make and brake seals & engine cowling seal. Ware mats
will be relined or replaced if required.
YOUR LIVERY
All vehicles can be painted in your Company livery. All we need is the
paint code you require your vehicle to be painted in and the style and
size of your Decals.
